Your Teen Daughter & Makeup: Try Mineral Makeup

By Marilyn Etzel

It is a rite of passage for a daughter to play in her mother's makeup. If you have your own teenage daughter you may have already experienced this. When she is ready for her own makeup, help her find a natural product.

Many people develop skin problems in their teen years. That is usually when the dreaded acne shows up. For a teen girl, skin problems can really be devastating. I'm sure you know teens are extremely body conscious and that begins with their faces.

Some girls think that using makeup will cover up their facial problems. Traditional makeup can clog pores and cause more problems for your daughter. If her skin is extremely sensitive, just the filler and dyes can give healthy looking skin problems it didn't have before.

When your daughter expresses an interest in makeup, discuss using mineral makeup instead of the more traditional choices on the market. In fact, help her pick out the makeup that will look best with her skin type and tone. Turn it all into a mother-daughter bonding event.

The Benefits

One thing to consider with mineral makeup is the health of your daughter's skin. Skin on the face is delicate anyway and when you are a teen, hormones put the skin through a number of tough phases. Adding traditional pore clogging makeup to the mix is not a wise choice.

Mineral makeup was designed to reduce the appearance of makeup on your face. It looks like you aren't wearing anything at all. To achieve this, the minerals meld with your skin for a flawless look with no tell-tale lines to show where you natural tone ends and the makeup begins. And, it only needs to be applied once for maximum effect.

But mineral makeup does something that traditional makeup can't - it enhances the natural beauty your daughter already has. But if there are imperfections, mineral makeup helps minimize them. It really makes it look like no make up is being worn at all. And that's something both mom and daughter will like!

Part of the reason for the seamless look is the brush strokes. A minimal amount of mineral powder is applied to the face using a Kabuki brush. It doesn't take long since the powder color matches the natural tone of the face. Your daughter will love how it looks and feels. You will love how little time she has to spend in the bathroom "putting on her face."

With mineral makeup, your daughter can:

- Keep skin issues at bay

- Have less chance of encountering skin problems due to makeup use

- Reduce the chances of skin issues.

Who would want to wear anything else on their face with benefits like that? - 16755
