I have made a short list of movie hits for 2008. These are some of the movies I found entertaining in this years crop. Hopefully you will see some films here that you will enjoy.
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: I guess it was a typical night out in Vegas. Young partiers Joy and Jack get up the next day and find out that they are married. After winning a huge jackpot, each thinks they deserve the prize, so they ask a judge for a decision. It is decided that they must stay together for six months, and try to make their marriage work. With an eye on the jackpot, they each try to get the other to give up, as both desire to have the cash for themselves.
HAMLET 2: Failed actor Mr. Marshz has moved on to teaching theater classes at the high school to apathetic students. When they lose a building at the campus, the powers to be feel the theater curriculum will get the axe. Now fully motivated, he tries to save the theater classes by producing Hamlet 2, an original interpretation of the Shakespeare classic, which is his own work.
TROPIC THUNDER: Starting with an incredible cast we soon see this movie is a classic spoof. Things are going bad, so to get his underachieving super stars to make a true epic masterpiece, the venturesome leaves them in the middle of nowhere. The goal is to shock them into the realism needed for a war film that will be recorded on hidden cameras. Unbelievably, as the director dies unexpectedly by stepping on a real land mine, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they are convinced everything is just an act, when things start to get very real. Here is a great cast with incredible make up for Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise.
IRON MAN: Super stud, engineering expert, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is captured by insurgent fighters in Afghanistan. He is instructed to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He sustained injuries during his capture, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To survive his injuries, and escape his captors, he creates a suit made of armor, which protects and strengthens him. We now have another super hero, Iron Man.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: Trying to find his lost brother, a science professor explores caves in Iceland, and that sends him into the depths of our planet. This is a newer edition of the 1959 film, that was formed from the classic novel by celebrated writer Jules Verne. Starring Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutchinson, this movie won?t let you down..
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: This is obviously the sequel to the highly acclaimed Madagascar. The small group of animal friends want to go back to the Central Park Zoo in NY, putting an end to their incredible adventure. Instead, with the Penguins leading them astray, they are off to their true homeland, Africa.
GET SMART: Maxwell Smart, as agent 86, is at it again, and he has us right where he wants us. The evil organization (KAOS) vs. the good guys (CONTROL); The shoe phone, and all the classic quotes. It's a trip down memory lane to look back at the antics of Maxwell Smart.
BOLT: Bolt: This film is a fun animation. Bolt, is a dog who is an actor, who in his TV show, has superpowers. The thing about Bolt is that he is convinced he has these powers. After he is unexpectedly finds himself in a real world situation, he discovers that he is only a normal dog. Now, trying to get back home, he is helped by a cat named Mittens, and an overweight hamster named Rhino.
WALL-E: This film is an animation comedy. Mankind has left Earth, since it had become a pile of rubbish. Wall-E, a robot built to remove trash, has been left behind to clean up the planet. When a recon robot (Eve) appears, checking for any signs of life, Walle-E has a friend. When Eve is retrieved by the spaceship that sent her, Wall-E sneaks aboard, and begins an exciting new life.
These days just about everyone buys or rents these movies, so they can see them in the comfort of their living rooms. A more recent method for getting films is through downloads from online sources. The internet has many websites that will download virtually any movie ever made. - 16755
