Positive Thinking Strategies Women can Use

By Deanna Collins

Changing your mindset is the single most powerful and important step you can take to change your life. The power of positive thinking has been studied by the psychiatric medical, scientific and spiritual community and they've all determined the same thing - positive thinking has power. Of course, changing the way you think is easier said than done. That's where positive affirmations become a very useful tool.

What are Positive Affirmations?

Affirmations are positive statements used to replace negative ones. For women, one problem area is weight. Many say, "I am fat." instead of seeing yourself in such a negative light, turn that statement into a positive one. "I love my body and I am the perfect weight for me."

A positive affirmation gives you a way to fight against negative thinking. When you think in positive ways it is possible to change your life one step at a time.

What Affirmations Work for You?

Everyone has certain negative thoughts that they want to change. Depending on what you "negatives" are here is a broad list of possible positive affirmations that bring hope.

My body is healthy

My body is the picture of good health

When I am grateful, I find more things to be grateful for

I know that I deserve to be loved

When I give love to others, I receive it back by the power of ten

My partner and I are happy together and living peacefully

My weight is just right for me

My choices in life are healthy and positive

When I have a need or feelings, I express them

I am special just as I am - creative, unique and wonderful

Everything comes to me easily and effortlessly

I love and appreciate myself just as I am

My feelings are important and a part of who I am

I love doing my job

I communicate with others clearly and effectively

I am worthy of what I want out of life

I am getting wealthier each day

My energy level is limitless

My mind is calm

My thoughts are under my control

I find success in everything I do

As you look through the list of potential positive affirmations, are any compelling? Do any of those affirmations ring true to you or cause a stir of emotion? The affirmations which resonate with you are good ones to start with. For example, if you've been struggling with your weight, spend some thing thinking about the negative self-talk you have around that issue and find a few positive affirmations which give you the strength and motivation to move through this challenge.

Change your thoughts by using positive affirmations to direct them. Totally eliminating negative thoughts takes time, practice and patience on your part. It does work and will get easier as you go along. Don't give up on yourself and give the process a try. - 16755
